COURSE DESCRIPTION
The aim of the IR (A) modular flying training course is to train pilots to the level of proficiency necessary to operate aeroplanes under IFR and in IMC.
The course comprises of theoretical knowledge instruction of 150 hours in case the applicant doesn’t hold an ATP Theory Certificate.
Instrument flight instruction for:
- Multi-engine IR(A) of 55 hours, of which up to 40 hours are simulator training. The remaining instrument flight instruction shall include 5 hours in single-engine aeroplane and 15 hours in multi-engine aeroplane.
- Single-engine IR(A) of 50 hours of which up to 35 hours are simulator training. The remaining instrument flight instruction shall include 15 hours in single-engine aeroplane.
PRE-ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- PPL(A)/CPL(A) with privileges to fly at night
- Before commencing the flight training the applicant shall have completed at least 50 hours of cross-country flight time as PIC in aeroplanes, helicopters of which at least 10 hours shall be in the relevant aircraft category.
DURATION
The duration of the IR(A) modular course is minimum 7 instructing weeks.
