Multi-Engine Piston Class Rating / MEP(L)
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Class Rating on Multi-Engine Aircraft enables pilot to gain the experience and the competence to fly a Multi-Engine Aircraft. At the completion of the course you will be able to exercise safely the privileges of the MEP Class Rating as Pilot-in-Command (PIC).
PRE-ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- A current and valid PPL(A) or CPL(A) issued in accordance with ICAO Annex 1.
- An applicant for a first class or type rating on a single-pilot multi-engine aeroplane shall have English language competency at least Level 4.
- An applicant for MEP(A) shall be at least 17 years of age.
- An applicant for MEP(A) shall be at least a Class 2 medical certificate holder.
- Before starting flight training, the applicant must have at least 70 hours as PIC on aeroplanes.
GROUND TRAINING
- The MEP (A) theoretical knowledge course comprises 9.0 hours
FLIGHT TRAINING
MEP (L) course comprises of 6 hours which 2 hours and 30 minutes of dual flight instruction under normal conditions of multi-engine aeroplane operations, and 3 hours 30 minutes of dual flight instruction in engine failure procedures and asymmetric flight techniques.
